Hey Peletronic, great to meet you! What's happening in your world at the minute?

All good here, thanks so much for having me! Right now I'm already beyond excited for the release of the new EP and the launch party at Sass in Vienna on May 28th.

Congratulations on releasing 'Restless EP' on 'Fortunea Records'. Talk us through the release…

The concept behind the EP is movement—Restless—and how a great night out might sound. If you flip the tracklist upside down and start with the final track, 1160 Dub, the party kicks off with a dubby vibe, gradually shifting into the funky grooves of Malibu Orange. As the night unfolds, things get a bit deeper with Timeless Travels, and in the later hours, the sound takes on more of a warehouse feel—still driving, but with a soulful twist.

How did the collaboration with the label come about?

I've known Klaus Benedek, the label manager of Fortunea, for quite some time. We first met at a party in Vienna about twelve years ago. As I remember, we had a long conversation about making music. A couple years later he booked me on one of his Tellerbetrieb events and I think he had founded the label just a year earlier. On that night he asked me to send over some demos I was working on with my friend Jakobin at the time. Luckily, he really connected with the tracks, and that's how our first EP, Girlo, came together. Since then, I've released a lot of music on the label and consider myself a regular part of the Fortunea family.

Where did you grow up, and how did your environment shape your relationship with music?

I was born in Serbia but grew up in the countryside of Upper Austria—a beautiful region surrounded by lakes and mountains. Alongside spending a lot of time in nature, I was also really into football and spent most of my youth playing for a local team. As I got older, my interests gradually shifted towards music and nightlife. My friends and I started going to a lot of raves and underground parties—mostly in Linz. In the early 2000s, there was a vibrant scene in that area, with everything from house and techno to drum & bass and hip hop. In 2009, I moved to Vienna for my studies—and I’ve been here ever since.

Can you share some insight into your creative process when producing music? Do you have any particular rituals or methods that help you stay inspired?‍

Like you said—everything we go through in life shapes who we are today. Friendships and shared experiences play a big part in that. Over the past 20 years of my career, collaboration has always been a key element. I’ve worked closely with others, and we’ve always tried to push things forward while supporting each other along the way. To me, that’s exactly what a vibrant music scene is all about.

Can you describe the connection between your music and your Austrian roots, and how they continue to influence your music today?‍

I usually don’t start with a clear idea of how a track will sound. I prefer to take my time, experiment, and just see where the journey leads. That’s one of the things I love most about making music—when you’re fully immersed, it becomes almost meditative. For me, it’s crucial to block out any distractions—like smartphones for example. They can really kill the vibe. Sometimes I get so into the process that I even forget to eat or drink for a while—but honestly, it’s worth it. There are also phases where I don’t touch the studio for months and just let projects rest. But then, out of nowhere, I’ll hit a short but intense creative streak and produce a lot of new music in a very concentrated period.

As someone deeply rooted in the House scene, what state is it in right now? What notable artists are emerging?

Underground house music remains as vital and dynamic as ever. While mainstream trends come and go, the underground scene continues to thrive through independent labels, intimate club nights, and passionate communities around the world. Artists are pushing boundaries by blending classic house elements with deeper, more experimental sounds—often drawing from jazz, soul, dub, and global rhythms. Vinyl culture is still going strong, and local scenes in cities like Berlin, London, Detroit, and Amsterdam keep evolving. We’re doing our part to keep Vienna on that map too—nurturing a local scene that values authenticity, creativity, and a true love for the dancefloor.

What's been the highlight of your career so far?

I think one of the most special moments was my first vinyl release back in 2016. I honestly couldn’t believe I was holding my own music in my hands—I was so happy. Thankfully, many more records followed after that, and I want to thank all the labels for their trust and support along the way. And here’s something a bit unusual: I once played a gig in a nuclear power plant here in Austria. It was never put into operation because it was voted out by a public referendum in the 1970s. A few years ago, there was a big festival there and I had the chance to perform in that unique setting.

If you could play B2B with any DJ, who would it be and why?

SoulPhiction (R.I.P.)

When you are not busy with music, what might we find you doing?

In the summer, you’ll probably find me relaxing somewhere by the Danube River, cruising through the city on my bike, or taking my dog, Didi, for a walk.
