Everyone Back to Mine Playlist
MoniqueaSoul Clap Records joins forces with XL Middleton’s MoFunk on this heavy new release - 3-track collab between XL Middleton, Moniquea, Soul Clap’s Charles Levine and FSQ’s Chuck Da Fonk, all made at Empire Studios in San Francisco.

We asked Mofunk’s leading lady - the super talented Californian singer and songwriter Moniquea to take us back to hers after the club. The lights are low, the shoes are off, this is the playlist.

Twilight by Maze featuring Frankie Beverly

A favorite band and singer for life. Any song from Frankie Beverly will soothe your internals.

Dreams from Last Night by Beath

I enjoy how the individual sounds of this song communicate with each other. A meaningful conversation that I want to hear.

Stereo by BoomBox

It's the perfect upper when you want to wind down and the sound of the music might make you feel like a VIP.

I'd Rather Be With You by Jean Tonique

This song is like perfectly warm bath water that never gets cold the entire time you're in it. I grabbed the album (Sunny Side Up) at the top of the 2020 pandemic and never let it go.

A World Come Back To Life by Scritti Polliti

An undoubtedly fire jam that I think could fill someone with nostalgia for the days they weren't even around for. I'm here for the chorus and the constant clean but nasty bass thump that occurs throughout the entire song.

Wake Up And Make Love With Me by Ian Dury

I won’t ever get over this quirky demand for love and the Chaz Jankel tickly keyboard solo at the end of the song. Ian Dury was lit. It’s hard to fathom that this record was cut in 1977.

Weekend Special by Brenda and the Big Dudes

I found this song on 7” several years ago in San Jose and had one of the most oh wow moments I’d ever experienced from an intro on a record.

Let Love Flow On by Sonya Spence

She brought a special delivery with this vocal. The tone of her voice is an unmistakable smile.

Cupcakin’ by K-Maxx

Cannot be duplicated. This song, this artist. The San Francisco treat, for real. K-Maxx forever.

Back To LA by XL Middleton

XL Middleton productions are the pathway to understanding the meaning of modern funk music. Conversely, this melodic knocker is an anytime, everywhere for anyone jam that provides the mind space to travel without interruptions.
