Gryph

Everyone Back to Mine Playlist
Gryph There’s a particular kind of magic that happens after a night out. When the lights come up, the crowd thins, and the real heads peel off to someone’s living room, backyard, or balcony to keep the energy glowing. Gryph knows that feeling intimately. His debut LP Nash Angeles is built from those same late night fibres: musicianship meeting mischief, deep grooves meeting warm human touch, and genre lines dissolving into one big, blissed out haze.

So when we asked him to pull together ten tracks for the after party, the ones he’d reach for when the shoes come off, the stories get louder, and the night stretches into something beautifully unplanned he delivered a selection that mirrors the album’s spirit. A little disco shimmer, a little jazz smoke, a little house bump, a little rock and roll swagger, and always that Gryph signature: soulful, playful, and made for people who aren’t ready for the night to end.

Jimi Hendrix - May This Be Love

This song took a 13-year-old living in Clarksville, TN from mundanity to the far reaches of the galaxy. This song expanded what I thought was sonically possible ( yes, i was on LSD).

The Doors - Hyacinth House (Demo Recorded at Robbie Krieger's Home Studio, 1969) off The Doors Boxset

This boxset truly changed my life. I had never heard such a dark but comforting sound in my life. The Doors recorded this demo while partying at Robbie's place in Laurel Canyon. This is one of the few demos that are better than the record.

D'Angelo - The Root

This track oozes emotion and it puts the soul at ease to infinity. Just listen, trust me.

Fleet Foxes - Blue Ridge Mountains

This track really reminds me of my time in East Tennessee and my time writing and jamming with folk artists. The melodies are so elating and it really puts you on a mountain top

Three 6 Mafia - Da Summa

This track was my summer anthem while living in Memphis. It captures the eerie, hot and muggy summer nights of Memphis.

The Isley Brothers - Summer Breeze ( Wild In Woodstock: Live at Bearsville Sound Studio)

This album is a hidden gem by these legends. This song is chill, but I recommend listening to it in its entirety.

Willie Hutch - Sunshine Lady

Willie Hutch is one of my favorite writers and producers of all time. This song sounds a soft, rolling stream.

The Cranberries - Linger

One of the most unique voices from the 90's. An overlooked band and an often forgotten song. Viva Ireland ;)

Curtis Mayfield - Tripping Out

His floating voice over the incredibly tight rhythm is a divine juxtaposition.

Kali Ulchis - Riding Round

One of my all time cruising songs. Kali's always just such a vibe.
