As we step into 2026, Finest Wear launches the year with his brand-new Good Vibrations EP, released on Minor Sounds. Featuring four deep house cuts — If Only You Knew, Good Vibrations, Rejoice, and Equinox — the EP captures his trademark blend of warm textures, emotional melodies, and dancefloor-ready grooves. Originally from London and now based in Oxfordshire, Finest Wear (Cenzo Scoglio) continues to refine his signature sound, rooted in underground house while embracing timeless musicality. With past releases on labels such as Nordic Trax and Large Music, he remains a respected voice in the global deep house scene. Good Vibrations EP is your first release of 2026 — what was your vision going into this project, and did you approach it differently compared to your previous work?
Hi, Thanks for having me here, Well as you most prob know I have finally set up my own label now 'Minor Sounds' which I have been meaning to do for a long time, With this 2nd Ep I have brought all my past experiences together and hopefully creating that FW magic that peeps seem to be liking again.
The EP moves through different moods, from early-night energy to deeper late-night grooves. Did you design the four tracks with a specific journey or set progression in mind?
Yes pretty much, I do try and take my tracks on a spiritual / emotional journey as i try to do with my Dj sets, I keep the journey vibe in mind and i have the same approach with my productions to but sticking to my usual Deep and heavy grooves, I also took a little nod to my oldskool days with Equinox by chopping up a classic break creating that 444 Dub vibe, not much going on with it but it has enough to draw you in.
The title track Good Vibrations feels uplifting yet grounded. What does that phrase mean to you personally and musically?
Exactly what it says, The saying draws you in and makes you feel great from the start and that's what I got from creating this EP, From a lot of the feedback and personal messages I received it seems the peeps got that same vibe too.
You're now based in the Oxfordshire countryside after years in London. How has the change of environment influenced your creativity and sound?
London has been great for me over the years and will always be my home town but being in the country has kinda brought a calm to myself and my productions and I feel that my sound is back and more polished than ever before, Ok I do miss the easy access to the nightlife as Oxford has closed all the good venues so it's quite difficult to get to a decent underground night here but to be honest its nice to not be out all the time these days as it gives me more time in the lab to bring my creative juices out and It has even made me learn the art of mastering my own tracks for the label too which I would have not had done before.
Your productions are known for their emotional depth and warm textures. What are the key elements you focus on in the studio to create that emotional connection?
Just to make sure things are calm in the new space I have here, I like to go for walks with the Wife to take in nature these days to open my mind and go and talk to a tree to get some inspiration. Yeh it sounds mad but aint we all a little mad? Grab myself a good coffee and then I like to take my time to find the right sound and use the plugins creatively to get that warm sound that I love to get them too.
As head of Minor Sounds, how do you balance running a label with your own creative output? Does wearing both hats change how you approach a release?
At the moment now the label is out there everything is running exactly how I wanted it too, ok there is always room for improvement but what I have done so far seems to be working. There is no change but I just wish there were more hours in the day as I hold down a full time job too so time is limited.
You've released music on respected labels like Nordic Trax and Large Music. How has your journey through different labels shaped your identity as an artist?
It has helped me massively having my music released with Nordic Trax and other great labels, it got my sound to where it is today, people always say I have a style and they know when its one of my productions which is real nice to hear because I know I am not following the trends like a lot of people do.
When DJing, do you test unreleased material like tracks from Good Vibrations EP on the dancefloor first, or do you prefer to finish everything in the studio before road-testing?
Well I have been having little break form the Dj-ing and radio but the only time I really road test my works is on the radio with live interaction as I can get some positive feedback which always helps, I would never road test when Dj-ing out, To be honest I dont like playing my own music lol.
Deep house has evolved significantly over the years. How do you stay true to the original essence of the genre while keeping your sound fresh and forward-thinking?
Because I have always been a massive fan of that Deep House sound, it's a passion for me and it hits you hard sometimes, I just create what comes out of my head that I feel is Deep, Ok you rarely see me up there in the top 100s but maybe there is a reason for that, I try and stick to the underground sound and that's where it should be, There is a massive following still for the underground and that makes me happy to be a huge part of that still.
Looking ahead to the rest of 2026, can we expect more releases, collaborations, or perhaps a full-length project from Finest Wear?
Yes 100%, My lovely wife has just brought me a remake of the lindrum called the LM-Drum from behringer and its a great piece of kit so my next Ep called ‘For The People' is fully made through that, well the beats are, I still do my works through Logic, I also have an Ep coming from my good friend BAMO (one half of spiritchaser) which I will be remixing, Plus in talks with a couple of other guests that I respect to write some bits for the label too, As for a full length project this is something that I am looking at doing for sure just got to make sure it’s 100% like everything I try and do. 🙂
