Everyone Back to Mine Playlist

Arpy BrownArpy Brown’s new EP is about to drop on London label Future Disco. The artist, formerly known as Athlete Whippet, continues to showcase his high energy fusion of joyful sounds to great effect on his – But I Miss You Everyday EP. We ask Arpy Brown to take us back to his after the club for his late night selections. The lights are low, the drinks are flowing, everyone is chill. This is the playlist.

D'Monk - Don't State the Obvious

Lloyd comes round the studio where I work in Deptford a lot and honestly, this man has unbelievable groove. That whole jazz x broken beat blend he's onto is just so good and it makes you dance just as much as it makes you lay back and listen.

Steven Julien & Fatima - Wraap't

I've been working with Steven a lot lately as he’s got a DJ-Kicks coming up and I’m part of the team behind that compilation series. He’s got such an amazing creative vision, both musically and visually, super cool and intriguing whilst not taking himself to seriously which I think is a rare and refreshing mix. The funk on this tune is unreal.

Sandra Da Sa - Olhos Coloridos

Brazilian music is one of my greatest loves since I’ve spent a lot of time there regularly, getting away from Northern European winters. It combines positivity with melancholy in a way which I haven’t seen in many other cultures which has always touched me. It’s got real depth in my eyes and this song is a great example of that.

Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange - Lady in Scarlet

I shared a studio in Berlin with these guys until very recently, there are a lot really inspiring Australian jazzers around town who coincidentally are also lovely people and a great hang. The groove and swag on this one get me every time.

Cody Currie - Cash

Every tme I hang with Cody he inspires me. We spent three weeks together touring Australia last year. I don’t know many other people who live and breathe the music they make as much as him.

Jim Legxacy - I don’t like how star wars treated john boyega

I met Jim earlier this year, working on his solo live show in London. It was a really special moment as he’s built so much momentum around his music but hasn’t really played out live that much. This show is in Deptford which is local to both of us in London and honestly people knew every single word he was singing. Goosebumps throughout. This tune is has always been one of my favourites from him.

Basement Jaxx - Samba Magic

Back to the Brazilian vibes! I came across Basement Jaxx’ Atlantic Jaxx compilation a couple months ago and this song just goes on and on with the groooooove.

Mystic Jungle - Don’t Stop Your Love

Another musical culture I have a real thing for is Neapolitan. We had Mystic Jungle over at a Toy Tonics Jam in Berlin last year and I fell in love with his music and how playful it is.

Ronald Snijders - Off The Groove

There’s something so light and airy about flutes that has always got me hooked. Ronald Snijders is deffo one of the GOATs of the flute game for me and also - those lyrics!

Maxwell - The Urban Theme

This one has been a random online find for me. Such a vibe from the 90s!
