Everyone Back to Mine Playlist

Dominic WilliamsMiles Away Records is headed up by Dominic Williams. Part of the Acid Jazz team, he has gone on to establish his own quality label focusing on some unknown and some much loved re-issues. Miles Away One is the debut compilation on the London label which has to be making it on those end of year lists. Here we ask this discerning digger and selector to take us back to his after the club for a chill. This playlist is only for the heads.

Cornershop - Topknot

A genuinely beautiful take on Punjabi folk, backdropped by a loping funk beat and breathtakingly lovely guitar.

AIR – Modular Mix

"Are we floating in space?” A friend said this to me recently whilst I played this tune at an afters. I get where they were coming from. One of my favourite bands.

Mario Rui Silva – Dembita

This track gives the sense of low-key beauty. Mario's guitar playing is immense but for me it's the percussion that flutters in and out of the mix that takes me someplace else.

Whole Truth – Can You Lose By Following God

Deep Sweet Spiritual Soul from Memphis. How can you not dig this tune. Johnny Frierson's vocals are imperious. One of those tunes which causes you to reflect on your life.

Womack & Womack – Conscious of My Conscience

I feel like any Womack & Womack track can't be too far away from the turntable at an afters. Perfectly blurring the lines between chill and club. Bringing you down but not too quickly.

Isabelle Mayereau – Orange Bleue

Dark, moody and French. A beauty of a track.

The Zenmenn – Out Of My Mind

What a truly beautiful track… I know I've said that a few times already but it’s true. Like giving your ears a great big hug.

George Smallwood – Lady Disco

The other version of this track is more upbeat, disco fuelled track but I much prefer this alternate version. Stripping it back and focusing on the lyrics really adds another dimension.

Leo Nocentelli – Give Me Back My Loving

Deeply introspective, warm and funky folk. All the hallmarks of a perfect afters tune in my opinion and this track by Leo Nocentelli has all of those qualities in abundance.

German Bringas – Caminatas

I was looking for this tune for a while to submit for Dream Chimney. In my books THE perfect afters tune. Chilled, spacey but with a strong melody. Honestly a track that has reduced me to tears many a time late at night/ early morning.
