I found myself employed as a semi-established artist who would find a human skull and translate the shape, with all of its unique flaws and contours, into ASCII art. I would then take the ASCII and use a specialized paint brush to smooth the symbols into a more stylized version of the original. I partnered with an ex-coworker who played guitar to put on art shows with musical accompaniment. Later I saw one of my exes, who considered herself, both in the dream an in reality, to be an "alternative art" connoisseur. She began to tell me how she wasn't impressed with our work, but I noticed one of the tattoos she had gotten since we last saw each other was actually one of my paintings. I told her as much and delighted in how bothered she was by it.
