Was (Not Was), the seminal art-funk collective from Detroit, is back from a Rip Van Winkle hibernation and ready to ensnare the innocent with its snaky beats and incendiary lyrics. Dormant since 1992, Don and David Was are again ready to rumble, starting with a ten city, post-Christmas tour, and steering its way toward a pair of CD releases in the spring of 2005 - one the ever dubious "Best Of" collection, and the other a slow-brewed stew of new songs the lads have been working on. The Christmas 2004 roadtrip, dubbed the "Life After Meth" tour, should prove once again that you can't keep a down man good, or some variation thereof. The Was crew will be fronted by the eternal soul assassin Sweetpea Atkinson, plus jazz star David McMurray is back on saxophone and guitar phenom Randy Jacobs will be back in his customary chair.
