On Friday, November 30th 1977 Mezzanine and the Gemini crew are proud to present Paradise, an all night disco party featuring a live performance by eighteen piece Brooklyn, NY disco ensemble Escort plus San Francisco’s best disco DJs.
In the vein of New York’s legendary, gritty underground club Paradise Garage and the more flashy Studio 54, Mezzanine will transform into the most debaucherous disco dance party San Francisco has ever seen comprised of live music, DJs and visual spectacle.
A cross-section of club-goers, promoters, creatives, music-heads, San Francisco sheik and disco adorners will come together for one night united by disco.
Escort, Brooklyn’s disco phenomenon will set the night on fire with eighteen musicians in tow (including a myriad of vocalists, horn section, drums, percussion, keyboards, guitars and two full string section) playing two live sets of bona fide disco jams. In the last year alone Escort has released five tracks of intoxicating disco authentically crafted, capturing the essence of an era set to completely original, sample free compositions. Their seductive single “All Through The Night” was remixed by the Rapture and “Starlight” landed on Pitchfork’s best tracks of 2006 stating “Starlight doesn’t just open the time capsule; it defrosts cryogenically frozen 70’s strings and a vintage four-on-the-floor pulse.”
