BLAIR JACKSON talk & book signing for "Grateful Dead Gear" Friday, November 17 at 7:00 pm
"Grateful Dead Gear: The Band's Instruments, Sound Systems, and Recording Sessions from 1965 to 1995" is the first in-depth examination of every aspect of the band’s technical side. From the “acid tests” of the mid-‘60s, to the “wall of sound” PA setup in the’70s, up to their exceptional later touring systems in the ‘80s and ‘90s, the Grateful Dead were always on the cutting edge of technological innovation and experimentation. Blair Jackson’s new book is a must-read for all fans of the band.
Blair Jackson, a leading Grateful Dead scholar for more than 25 years, is the author of "Garcia: An American Life" and several other books on the band. He was the founding editor of The Golden Road, a Dead fanzine, and is currently senior editor of Mix, the world’s leading audio production magazine.
