BLAG DAHLIA *** reading & book signing for "Nina" Saturday, November 11 at 8:00 pm *** this Booksmith sponsored event will be held at the Edinburgh Castle (950 Geary Street)
Blag Dahlia's "Nina" is the story of a young girl coming of age with no apologies. Too cool for school, too hot for television, and too scandalous to be believed, "Nina" is the twisted, comic, disturbing and surreal tale of an object of desire that gives as good as she gets - a cross between Terry Southern’s "Candy" and Jim Thompson’s "The Killer Inside Me." This is punk rock lit (with a brash cover by Detroit pop artist Niagara) for the 21st century.
Blag Dahlia is an underground rock legend, singer for the seminal punk band the Dwarves (over a dozen albums on labels such as Sub Pop, Epitaph, Sympathy for the Record Industry, and Reptilian), and author of "Armed to the Teeth With Lipstick." He splits his time between LA and SF. For more info, check out http://www.thedwarves.com/
