RALPH STEADMAN *** talk & slideshow for "The Joke’s Over" Thursday, November 2 at 7:00 pm
In 1970, artist Ralph Steadman came to America in search of work - and found more than he bargained for. He met writer Hunter S. Thompson, and their working relationship resulted in gonzo journalism. Steadman's "The Joke’s Over" tells of a remarkable collaboration that documented the turbulent 70s, and details a friendship filled with both betrayal and understanding.
Ralph Steadman has illustrated many books, including Hunter S. Thompson’s "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." He is the author of "The Grapes of Ralph" (for which he won a Glenfiddich Food & Drink Award) and other books. Ralph Steadman lives in England.
