14th Annual Reggae in the Park

  October 04, 2003
"Viva La Fiesta"- Sunny Hills Children's Garden- 104th Annual Grape Festival

From the salsa sounds of Los Compas to fresh made margaritas and tamales, this year’s 104th Annual Grape Festival adds Latin flavor with “Viva La Fiesta” on Saturday, October 4, 11am-5pm at Larkspur Landing Shopping Center. The event is FREE and parking is generous, with easy San Francisco access by the Larkspur Ferry. For more information, call 415-256-1580 or log on to www.shcg.org
In addition to the “Fiesta” fare available, the Grape Festival will feature all the popular homemade delicacies such as handmade chocolates, homemade jams, jellies and chutneys, pumpkin pies, brownies and pastries, plus the one-of-a-kind Brown Bobbies (a family tradition!). And, festival goers can choose from an extensive variety of unique handmade arts and crafts, plus a selection of Artisan creations including Dots on Pots, a selection from Sonoma Gourds and Pleasant Memory Wood Work. KGO-TV celebrity hosts Cheryl Jennings, Don Sanchez and Joel Bartlett and KGO Radio’s Lin Durling move the day-long action along with playful banter and autograph-signing. Plus, the Getaway Raffle features everything from A Pair of Tickets on Alaska Airlines valid to anywhere they fly, including one of seven Mexico destinations to a Wine County Weekend.” Joining Los Campos on the entertainment bill is Steel Jam and the McIntosh Bag Pipers that traditionally open the Grape Festival.
Kids can enjoy an expanded area chock full of games, rides and amusements of all kinds. There will be two astro-bouncies (to avoid long lines and waiting that frays the nerves of kids!), games, balloon making, face painting, a train ride, pony rides and the always delightful and entertaining antics of Lori & RJ on the special kids’ stage. Or, kids can climb into police cars and onto fire trucks, to get a birds-eye view of what it’s like to handle an emergency vehicle. Plus, the kids area will have its own menu including snow cones, popcorn, nachos, hot dogs and other goodies.
