MARIN COUNTY, CA, August 1, 2005 – The Lemniscate Arts & Eurythmy Spring Valley presents Making Music Visible, a symphonic eurythmy performance, with the Santa Rosa Symphony, Sunday, September 18th at 8 p.m. at The Marin Center, 10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael. For more information about the New World Symphonic Eurythmy Tour 2005 visit the website at www.newworldtour.org Selections featured in the September 18th performance will include Antonin Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, also knows as the The New World Symphony; and an original symphonic work, History’s Doorstep by Jim Papoulis who has created works for Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, CBS’s “Up Front at Carnegie Hall,” and the United Nations, among others. The program will also include a speech eurythmy of Dylan Thomas’ poem “And Death Shall Have No Dominion.” Eurythmy, developed by Rudolf Steiner in the early 20th Century, is unique in contemporary performing art. Neither improvisational nor interpretive, eurythmy makes music and speech visible and has been described as symphony for the ears and eyes. This exclusive Bay Area performance is part of the New World Symphonic Eurythmy Tour 2005, a 16 cities fall tour of the United States and Canada featuring regional symphony orchestras and a company of 26 eurythmists from 11 countries. A pre-show talk and demonstration takes place one hour before every performance.
