Marin Center Presents Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company
Making their Marin Center debut and only Bay Area appearance is the spectacular 80-member Ukrainian folk dance company named for its founder, ballet master Pavlo Virsky. The Virsky is revered for its dancing bravura, brightly colored costumes and its choreographic genius. The ballet-trained dancers flip, spin and kick without effort, yet display astonishing power. From creative new numbers such as The Carpathians, The Tambourine Dance and The Russian Suite, to the traditional medley Ukraine, My Ukraine, the repertoire celebrates the heart and soul of the Ukraine.
