142 Throckmorton Theatre is honored to welcome Dan Hicks to their stage. Hicks is widely credited as one of the cornerstones of the Haight-Ashbury music explosion of the 1960’s. Combining the likes of gypsy jazz, folk, country and swing, as well as fast call and response vocals with female singers, Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks created a sound that superceded the era, vaulting him into the international arena. Recording originally five groundbreaking albums, Hicks has influenced countless musicians and songwriters with his genre-defying, yet accessible songwriting, rootsy sensibility and wry humor.
