 RIVER’S END

MARIN THEATRE COMPANY OPENS 2005-2006 SEASON WITH WORLD PREMIERE OF MUSICAL

“RIVER’S END”

Book & Lyrics by Cheryl Coons; Music by Chuck Larkin

Directed by Lee Sankowich

Sept. 8 - Oct. 9, 2005

Opening Night Sept. 13, 8PM

MILL VALLEY, CA – The World Premiere of River’s End, with book and lyrics by Cheryl Coons and music by Chuck Larkin, will launch the 2005-2006 season for Marin Theatre Company. Presented as a staged reading in MTC’s New Works series in February 2005, River’s End is a theatrically unique and fascinating musical that dramatizes two theories of the true-life mysterious disappearance of newlyweds Glen and Bessie Hyde. In 1928, the Hydes set out to navigate the treacherous Colorado River on a wooden raft. Halfway down the river, their boat was found fully intact, moored in calm waters. However, Glen and Bessie had vanished without a trace. Since then, their mysterious disappearance has been the subject of a documentary, books and popular folklore. In MTC’s presentation, two men (John Patrick Moore & Travis Poelle) and two women (Molly Bell & Dani Marcus) portray the couple as two theories are explored in this unique musical representation. MTC’s Artistic Director Lee Sankowich directs.
