ANNUAL MARIN COUNTY FAIR MARKS 60 YEARS OF COMMUNITY CELEBRATION JUNE 30-JULY 4
SAN RAFAEL, CA – The 60th Annual Marin County Fair will mark its diamond anniversary with dramatic fireworks displays, big name entertainment and 5 days of community celebration, Thursday, June 30 through Monday, July 4. To commemorate sixty years of fabulous fairs there will be fun events and exhibits, thrilling rides and attractions, and of course, the fair’s traditional nightly fireworks show at 9:30 PM, over the lagoon. This year’s entertainment line-up includes Huey Lewis and the News (Thursday, June 30), The Spinners (Friday, July 1), Starship featuring Mickey Thomas (Saturday, July 2), Pablo Cruise (Saturday, July 2), American Rhythm & Roots Festival staring Junior Brown and Angela Strehli (Sunday, July 3), Preservation Hall Jazz Band (Monday, July 4) and Big Bang Beat (Monday, July 4). The Fair is open 11 AM-11 PM daily. Admission is adults, $12; Seniors 65+, $10; Children 4-12, $10; Children under 4, Free. Admission includes over 10,000 exhibits, 28 carnival rides and special entertainment – headliners, the 35th Annual Short Film and Video Festival, barnyard, nightly fireworks, 16th Annual Creatures and Models. Special admission days include Marin Independent Journal Day, Thursday, June 30 ($2 discount coupon will be published in the Marin IJ for this day) and Children’s Day, Thursday, June 30 (Children 12 and under are admitted FREE).
