Wesley Stace (aka "John Wesley Harding") reading & book signing for Misfortune Thursday, April 21st at 7:00 pm at The Booksmith (1644 Haight Street in San Francisco)
Wesley Stace (aka the singer / songwriter "John Wesley Harding") is a modern troubadour. With Misfortune, his first novel, Stace has written a joy-filled and mischievous reinvention of the English adventure novel, brimming with unexpected plot twists, outrageous characters, and fanciful details of a world long past. Misfortune is an original and unforgettable debut from a singular talent. In 1988, Wesley Stace cut short his Ph.D. studies at Cambridge University in favor of a career in music. As John Wesley Harding (a name taken from the Dylan album), he has recorded thirteen albums and toured the world. Harding has appeared on-stage along side the likes of Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and Bruce Springsteen (with whom he has recorded a duet).
