Nick Mason *** talk & book signing for Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd Thursday, April 14th at 7:00 pm
With more than 116 million albums sold and 25 years on the pop charts, Pink Floyd is one of the most successful rock groups in history. And yet their story - until now - is one of the least known. Nick Mason, the only continuous member of the band through its 40-year history, has witnessed every twist, turn, and somersault from behind his drum kit. Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd is the story of this remarkable band. San Francisco Chronicle rock critic Joel Selvin will interview Nick Mason. A book signing will follow. Please note: Nick Mason has agreed to sign one additional Pink Floyd item (such as CDs or posters) for every copy of his book purchased through the Booksmith.
Nick Mason first played with Roger Waters and Syd Barrett in London in 1964. Their 1973 album, Dark Side of the Moon, one of the most popular rock albums of all time, spent an incomprehensible 741 weeks on the Billboard album chart. In similar fashion, Pink Floyd's 1979 album, The Wall, was a huge seller and yielded the transatlantic number one hit, "Another Brick in the Wall." Don't miss this rare event with a rock legend.
