Robert Beer is a British-born, world-renowned painter and writer who has studied and practiced Tibetan thangka painting for more than 35 years. (His paintings and drawings have appeared in at least 600 books on Buddhist themes.) Speaking for the first time in San Francisco, Beer will talk about the various books he has authored and illustrated, including the classic Encyclopedia of Tibetan Symbols and Motifs and the recently released Tibetan Ting-Sha: Sacred Sound for Spiritual Growth. Beer is also a collector and scholar of Buddhist and Hindu symbolism. For years, he has been assembling the largest, most significant collection of Tantric paintings in the world.
