Vendela Vida is the author of the novel "And Now You Can Go" and "Girls on the Verge," a journalistic study of female initiation rituals. She is the coeditor of The Believer, and editor of "The Believer Book of Writers Talking to Writers," as well as a founding board member and teacher at 826 Valencia, a nonprofit youth writing lab located in San Francisco.
