Planet Mu is best known as the home base of µ-Ziq, aka Mike Paradinas, but he's not the only strange creature inhabiting that particular orb, where the terrain is rutted by meteoric blast-beats and the air is helium-thin. Tonight's tour showcase runs the spectrum from edIT's appropriately edit-intensive hip hop to Eight Frozen Modules' anything-goes approach to sound, rhythm, and texture. LA's Phthalocyanine makes music as joyfully convoluted as his name would suggest — think free jazz cut with breaks on speed. Mochipet — the only SF artist to grace BPitch Control's roster — and Merck's Comute hold it down for the home team. (SK)
