THREE GRAPHIC NOVELISTS slideshow, talk & booksigning Tuesday, February 13 at 7:00 pm at The Booksmith (1644 Haight Street in San Francisco)
The Booksmith presents an evening celebrating the work of three graphic novelists. Joining us for a talk, slide show and book signing are acclaimed Drawn and Quarterly authors Kevin Huizenga, author of Curses, Gabrielle Bell, author of Lucky, and Anders Nilsen, author of Don’t Go Where I Can’t Follow. These three are among the brightest new makers of comics.
Kevin Huizenga has been nominated for both the Harvey and Eisner Awards and is the winner of the Ignatz Award for his short stories and comic books. Curses is his first graphic novel. Gabrielle Bell was born in London, raised in California, and lives in Brooklyn. Bell’s work is featured in the Yale University Press’ Anthology of Graphic Fiction. Anders Nilsen was born in New Hampshire and lives in Chicago. He is the cartoonist behind the award-winning comic book series Big Questions.
