THURSDAY, January 22 Opening Night!
Opening party for "A Low Tech Odyssey,"
An installation by bolt (the bureau of low technology) who coined the word "technostalgia", presents "A Low-Tech Odyssey" featuring dozens of vintage arcade games (that's the stand-up kind!) like Space Invaders, Asteroids, Defender all set on "FREE PLAY". The exhibit chronicles the beginnings of video gaming, taking us from Pong right up to early 80's games like Missile Command and Donkey Kong.
The show also features home consoles like the Atari 2600 (with dozens of cartridges) and Intellivision as well as classic computer games like Space Eggs for Apple II and Crystal Quest on Mac SE. Gallery hours are Wednesdays-Saturdays 12pm-5pm and admission is FREE.
If you would like to play the games, visit us Thursdays-Saturdays from 6pm-12am or during the day on Saturday during gallery hours. For a modest cover (usually $2-5), you get to play ALL games as much as you want as long as you want so come liveout your childhood fantasy in the "bolt lounge"TM. Exhibition runs through Feb. 28th
