Tangerine Dream "the parts without drums/guitars" from "Near Dark" Soundtrack
File Under: -

This movie has some awful, awful acting—Bill Paxton of course rules every scene he's in. But I kind of liked certain moments. They were usually the moments without vampires and midwestern farm boys (except for the bar scene, and the bitter little kid/old man vampire moments). It would be these scenes, usually right before and during dawn, shots of the praire or desert, or some country road. Ths sun just about to come up over some mountain range, maybe one of the vehicles the vampire used would be driving off in the distance. And Tangerine Dream would have some really nice atmospheric synth part playing. It was great. But then sometimes the 80's guitars would kick in and some lame overly produced drum track would start and right about at that point the acting would start. But it's not all bad, just kind of weird. Also, isn't the whole movie just some sort of thinly veiled anti-drug statement? Kind of a companion piece to "The Lost Boys". Remember that movie?
