Boston duo Soul Clap is made up of Eli Goldstein and Charles Levine. Describing themselves as ‘rave babies’, since their intergalactic journey began, Soul Clap has released three albums, curated DJ Kicks, Fabric and Watergate mix series’ and collaborated with some of the greatest like George Clinton, Nona Hendryx, Louie Vega. They also run Soul Clap Records and the House Of EFUNK imprint! This week Soul Clap release ‘Drowning in Your Love’ on London label Freerange Records. We thought is would be fun for the guys to take us back to theirs after the club for their afterhours selections. As we turn down the lights and kick off our shoes, this is the playlist.
Kleer - Take Your Heart Away

Kleeer is capable of covering so much sonic ground as a band, from disco to that hard 80's funk and beyond. This is the first cut off one of their later records with such a hard intro!
System Olympia - Falling In Love ft P-Nut

System Olympia checks ALL the sexy afterhour boxes, but then goes so much further in her artistry, creative capabilities and dedication to erotica. Musically she has locked into an outstanding deep intimate vibe and delivers one record after another of perfectly executed retro futurism.
Mike Oldfield - Foreign Affair

Discovered this deep cut on Italian radio driving a Fiat 500 through the countryside in Tuscany last summer. It's shocking how contemporary this sound is today and here's another fun fact this English musician is the composer of Tubular Bells which became the theme song to the Exorcist, that some serious range and experimentation.
Force MD's - Love Is A House

Staten Island stricken again, sure you can call it cheesy, but in 1981 these guys are were considered the -Original Architects Of R&B Seduction”. With smoothed out FM Synths, drum machines washed in reverb and insane vocal harmonies, this record is designed to be rinsed and repeated.
R+R = Now - Awake To You

This style of R&B and Soul infused Jazz feels like it picks up where Roy Hargrove left off with his RH Factor collaborative project that was so revolutionary. These guys are a contemporary Jazz supergroup consisting of Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Derrick Hodge, Taylor McFerrin, Justin Tyson and more who crack that heart chakra wide open!
Stella and The Longos - Besoin De Toi

This is a song from the Stella and The Longos album Amour Prepare that came out in 2025. It's part of this modern international boogie movement that the label Star Creature Universal Vibration has been incubating for a while, really took off last year. This one embodies that spirit of smooth tropical disco with a hint of reggae and calypso. You can almost smell the wind blowing in from the ocean.
OutKast ft George Clinton - Synthesizer

Squirming is probably my favorite OutKast album and this is probably my favorite smooth out jam on there, of the many smooth out jams. You can’t really go wrong with this team up and this is a perfect living room banger.
The Orb - Earth (Gaia)

I’m all about music that I can put on close my eyes and feel closer to Nature. This one is great for lying on the floor and letting the feeling of love for The Earth wash over you.
Say She She - Under The Sun

One of my favorite bands right now and this is a lovely disco / funk chugger from their latest album. Great lyrics and perfect vibe to dance around in your socks.
Lola Villa - Amazonía

More Nature music! Another one to close your eyes and get transported somewhere warm and womb-y. So many sounds to get lost in…
