Mr Mulato and Frank Situation are the kingpins in the Situation collective. Together they have compiled this brilliant album full of soulful future house classics embellished with the vocals of Andres Espeut, Javonntte, and Venessa Jackson. The album is released on 25th April so do check it out!
Here we ask the guys to take us back to theirs after the club. The lights are low, the shoes are off. This is their afterhours playlist.
Sebastian Tellier - La Ritournelle

The perfect track. Tony Allen on the drums, massive chords and string sections, hooky makes vocal loops and phrases that come in half way through, happy blissful vibes.
Katzuma - Dr Know

If you have never listened to Katzuma I would urge you to, it's Herbie Hancock meets Daft Punk, amazing music so many great tracks this is fat & groovy!
Galaxy 2 Galaxy - Return of the Dragon

I love this era of techno, Detroit, Underground Resistance, Juan Atkins, vibes, bass and strings that melt. Was on an amazing Laurent Garnier mix about 30 years ago
The Love Unlimited Orchestra - I Wanna Stay

Proper Barry White, the hook right from the first beats is totally hypnotic!
This grabs all of you, a masterpiece of disco funk. Q-Tip sampled it .
Prince - Erotic City

Grew up with Prince Alphabet Street and Sign of the Times. Massive amounts of hours listening to him. So many amazing tracks but this always goes down so easy or on the floor. B side of let's go crazy I think. Total musical genius.
Sylvia Striplin -You Can't Turn Me Away” (1981)

Very memorable in my teenage years at the soul clubs/all-dayers …especially got the girls on the floor! Chilled groove but the bass and clav just get in your head and before you know it y'all be moving!
Kool & The Gang - Summer Madness (1974)

Just a beautiful 70's instrumental by the gang for whenever I feel the need to slow down…Lie under a tree on a sunny day or just close your eyes and let them take you there.
Erykah Badu - On & On (Remix Edit) (1997)

EB the Queen has always touched my heart & soul when it comes to music …in a way like no other. Hard to pick a favorite but this has always shuffled to the top of the list for me
Scientist - Seconds Away (1980)

Loved my dub when growing up and Scientist is one of the best to do it! This one always takes me back to those blunted hazy days of my youth with the crew
Massive Attack - Hymn Of The Big Wheel (Nellee Hooper Mix)

Massive attack have been very formative in my passion for music. As a teenager I spent my days following The Wild Bunch Soundsystem. I particularly love this remix by Nellee Hooper, also as he was part of the original WB DJ crew.
