Norwegian trio Lakeshouse are about to drop their sensational new album ‘ Om Verda Mi’ on Paper Recordings. Dream Chimney invites the trio to take us back to theirs after the club for a late night session Scandi style.. Lakeshouse set the scene:
«You have arrived at a secret lake somewhere in Norway, deep in the woods on a summer night. It’s still dark, but the earliest colors of the morning sky are starting to creep in, and with the added help of the moonlight you can clearly see the lake in front of you. It’s got spots of fog rolling across it, and dozens of ripples in the water where fish surface to eat insects. The smell of smoke from a bonfire hits your nostrils. You look around and spot the fire. The bonfire has been burning for quite some time, but it’s still going strong, and there is comfortable seating all around it. You can’t quite make out their faces, but you see some people sitting around the fire, quietly listening to music from a little bluetooth speaker hung from a tree. The open air acoustics seem to make the music blend in with the surroundings, and it becomes part of the gentle ambiance of the woods behind you. One of the figures turns around to face you, but the glow from the fire from behind obscures their face. We’ve been expecting you. Come. Join us»
The Durutti Column - Otis
Over the last couple of years it seems like younger people have found Durutti. His music deserves to be recognised because he has been a huge part in forming both indie and electronic music.

Bjørnar Sira - SMS frå Karoline
This is a track from Bjørnar's solo record that just came out. Endre also co-produced and mixed it. A trombone driven piece of music inspired by Ravel's Bolero.

Själen - Älska dig
The vocals on this uber sentimental tongue in cheek ballad are so sweet and desperate. Talk about yearning! This track is from a great Studio Barnhus compilation. We're big fans. Lyrics in Swedish are -I just want to love you - until it ends…” Beautiful.

Bjørn Torske - Brus
Taken from our favorite Torske-album, “Trøbbel”. This melody is pure magic.

Oneohtrix Point Never - Wave Idea
His production and overall sound design has been a great inspiration for us. On this track you can kind of hear sounds that aren't there but the soundscape and synths is very suggestive…especially of water in different forms and shapes - a lake for example.

Sondre Bratland - Kilden
The mysterious vibe on this religious traditional folk hymn/stave is perfect out in the woods during twilight hours. The melodic ornaments and understated synth pad arrangements are a perfect match when time seems to stand still. A minimalistic cosmic journey into the night.

b0ka - Fjompin' 67
This is a song from our other musical project, b0ka, from the album “Forever, My Friend”. This song is the sound of a breezy summer day in the country, moving through to the city and transitioning into the club - but we love playing it anywhere and anytime we want to relax and zoom out.

Nitai Hershkovits, Daniel Dor - Polka Gigue
A masterfully made electronic album that mixes 50s and 60s style electronic sounds with melodies and harmonies that could have been the soundtrack to a video game.

Arne Norheim - Intermezzo
He is a pioneer for electronic classical music in Norway and the world. This intermezzo is freaky and wonderful and contains a world of its own within 1 min and 38 seconds.

Mr. Tophat - Dusk Till Dawn (Acoustic edit Version)
We're big fans of Tophat. He makes all kinds of weird and wonderful music. This one is perfect both daytime on a summer day by the lake or at night around the bonfire. Heavenly flute, warm nylon/classical acoustic guitars and bitter-sweet vocals.
