Marcel Vogel & LYMA - Flame On
I would be very excited to show this to everybody. I generally get very good feedback if I play people my stuff in person while staring them in the eye.
Sade - Never As Good As The First Time
Sade is a unicorn. Few things beat her Best Of Sade CD.
Sampha - Without
I guess Sampha has grown on me very slow but steadily. At the moment he's maybe the most interesting artist I know. Really love listening to all his soundscapes and the wonderful emotion he's putting in his voice. Also, he's co-produced many of my favourite projects, like Solange's Seat At The Table.
Solange - Cranes In the Sky
Just an all-time classic album.
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
Admittedly I am not a huge Jazz fan, I have a few but not that many, but I am sure after a great night out this would land well.
Prince - Valentina
Under appreciated Prince tune? Not sure if too many people are familiar with this gem that was buried on one of his throw away albums.
Amorphous & Bree Runway - The Vibe
Why not? After a few chillout tunes, it probably would be time to turn up again. Perhaps? Could go either way! I definitely have a love for -cheesy” R&B .
Childish Gambino - Redbone
Ah just love Donald Glover so much. There is like a making of for this tune on Youtube where his studio partner talks you through how the tune came about. Also, Atlanta is stellar.
Thundercat - Them Changes
I guess this is a good tie in with Redbone and a nice round off to the list. Thundercat!
