Bosq

The following interview was conducted in November 15, 2023

Bosq makes music to make you happy. His sound is full of Afrobeat flavour, bursting with disco goodness, containing all the colours of the rainbow. His will make your heart sing and your feet dance. His latest single 'Meji Meji' in collaboration with Kaleta, is out this week on Bacalao. Here we ask Bosq to take the party back to his crib after the club. The mood is chilled, the drinks are flowing, the shoes are off. This is the playlist.

Everyone Back to Mine Playlist

Bokoor Band - Onukpa Shawarpo

I can't think of many better songs to shuffle around in socks to. Perfect example or a relaxed groove that's still impossible not to move to.

Black Harmony - Don't Let It Go To Your Head

An absolutely perfect cover in my opinion. Beautiful super crispy reggae with just the right amount of dub.

Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey - Ajoyio

Deep, beautiful, jazzy and soul stirring. Maybe I play this as the last song before everybody gotta go sleep!

Little Anne - Deep Shadows

Beautiful perfectly produced piece of soul music, I never get sick of this one, I wish it was longer though!

Peregoyo y su combo vacana - Lap Pluma

I mean I would probably also play this in the club but would be perfect back at the house for a last few dances while people get loose. Beautiful cumbia from the Pacific Coast of Colombia so it has a little something different than most Cumbia from here.

Ray Barretto – Abidjan

Ray Barretto was an absolute master of fusing styles. I love the switch into 6/8 at the end. Chefs kiss.

Pharcyde – Running

Hip hop & Reggae were my first musical obsessions so at some point in the night they're coming on no matter what! Dilla at his best on this beat too.

Fela Kuti - My Lady Frustration

Can't ever do a playlist without including maybe my biggest influence! One of his smoother offerings perfect for a late-night boogie.

Brother Valentino - Stay Up Zimbabwe

Revolutionary music is a must because the other thing we will always be doing at the after party is talking human rights & revolution! This is the highest the energy would get I think.

Tenor Saw - Come Me Just A Come

Hauntingly beautiful vocals from Tenor Saw on this track that always gives me goosebumps, honestly, I could make the whole playlist this vibe.
